Attendance at 172nd Canfield Fair tops last year

CANFIELD

Attendance at this year’s Canfield Fair was up about 4 percent over last year.

A total of 295,781 came to the fair this year, up from 284,556 last year.

Monday’s attendance lagged behind last year, with 47,238 visitors compared with 57,054 last year.

Canfield Fair Board President David Dickey attributed that to Monday’s heat. Monday was sunny, humid and temperatures were in the 90s for most of the day.

The fair closed with a grandstand concert headlined by country music star Toby Keith.
