RUNNERS TO YOU MARKS … Upcoming walks and runs

SEPTEMBER

MONDAY — Justin Leo Memorial Bridge Run/Walk to dedicate the Justin Leo Memorial Bridge and the Officer Leo Monument at Girard City Hall. The free event will be a 2.0134 mi (3.24km) run/walk event ay 8:30 a.m. in downtown Girard. Upon completion of the “Officer Leo Memorial” Run/Walk, the Officer Justin Leo Memorial Bridge dedication will begin, followed by the Officer Leo Monument dedication at City Hall. The bridge dedication is projected to begin at 10 a.m., with the memorial dedication to follow. Refreshments and public restrooms will be provided via the upstairs entrance of the American Legion, 11 High St, Girard. The event will take place rain or shine.

22 — Pink Ribbon 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk at the Trumbull Regional Medical Center Oncology Center, 1353 East Market St., Warren. Registration at 8 a.m., opening ceremony at 9 a.m. and race at 9:15 a.m. Entry fee is $15 in advance or $20 on race day. Call 330-841-9399 for more information.

23 — Lordstown Apple Cider Festival 5K Race/Walk begins at 10 a.m. Advance registration is $17. Race-day registration is $20. Checks payable to Lordstown Athletic Department, 1824 Salt Springs Road, Warren, Ohio 44481. Check-in at Lordstown Schools Track/Soccer Complex at the intersection of state Route 45 and Salt Springs Road in Lordstown. T-shirts guaranteed for all runners. Water stops, mile timers, refreshments, door prizes and local vendors will be on site.
