Dennis Miller cards course-record 63

CANFIELD

Long-time Valley golf standout Dennis Miller added another honor to his golf list.

The one-time U.S. Open competitor now owns the course record at Tippecanoe Country Club.

Playing the 6,902-yard No. 1 tee setup, Miller carded a 63 on July 29.

The previous record had been held by Garret Frank, who carded a 64.

This corrects a previous news item that misreported the events.

Jason Duncan makes rare ace on par-4

POLAND

Making a hole-in-one is pretty cool on a par 3. On a par 4, it’s more rare.

Jason Duncan of The Lake Club pulled it off Aug. 24 at the 327-yard No. 4 hole at Lake.

Playing with Michael Gayetsky and Andrew Straub, Duncan drew his driver up over the water before landing it and draining it in the mid-green pin position.

It’s been several years since there’s been an ace on that hole.
