The Children of the World Choir that was scheduled for Sunday at North Lima Mennonite Church has been canceled.

Mineral Ridge

The First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., will begin its fall schedule Sept. 9. Church school for all ages will take place at 9:15 a.m., worship will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by a time of fellowship. The service will include the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The youth will host a bake sale during the time of fellowship to raise money for local mission work. The building is handicapped-accessible.

Healing Series

Lucille will be teaching biblical principles, sharing life experiences and offering personal healing prayer ministry with anointing of oil if desired. Jason Evert, speaker and author, will present “Purified,” a potentially life-changing event for families from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at St. Christine Church, 3125 S. Schenley Ave.

This event is sponsored by the Office of Pro-Life, Marriage and Family of the Diocese of Youngstown and the pro-life group, Men and Women United for Life. Evert will speak on parenting for purity followed by a teen presentation, “Love or Lust.” The evening will conclude with prayer and reconciliation. For ages 13 and up.

Pittsburgh trip

On Oct. 17, Salem St. Paul’s Church, 350 S. Union Ave., is sponsoring a trip to Pittsburgh to “Tour and Taste” one of two districts.

Registrants may choose between Bloomfield’s Little Italy or the Multi-Ethnic Strip District. Both tours feature a behind-the-counter look at a variety of eateries. Tours link local history with the eating establishments. Each tour lasts two hours, followed by about one hour to shop on your own throughout the district.

The cost is $75, is due by Wednesday and covers bus transportation, tour ticket, all food tastings, gratuity for the tour guides and taxes. For information, contact Janel at 330-647-7946.

Community picnic

Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, will host its annual Rally Day/Community Picnic on Sept. 9. Sunday school and adult Bible class will begin at 9 a.m. The worship service with communion will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Immediately after the worship service, there will be a free community picnic with hamburgers, hot dogs and sausage sandwiches, games and prizes for kids of all ages, music and demonstrations by Austintown’s first-responders. Everyone is invited to attend.

New message series

CANFIELD

The Master’s Touch Healing and Training Center, 5357 S. Raccoon Road, will begin an eight-week message series Sept. 9. The series is “How to Hold on Through the Storms of Life.”

There will not be healing services Sunday due to the Canfield Fair traffic and Labor Day weekend.
