Girard-East game moved to YSU
YOUNGSTOWN
Saturday’s Girard-East playoff football game has been moved from Rayen Stadium to Youngstown State University’s Stambaugh Stadium.
Soggy field conditions are why, said Rich Shepas. Youngstown City Schools athletic director. This week’s forecast includes more rain.
The Rayen Stadium field is grass. YSU has a turf field.
The Division IV. Region 13 game will kick off at 7 p.m.
Advance tickets are on sale at East for $8. The gate price will be $9.
Tickets also are on sale at the Girard Arrowhead Stadium Fieldhouse weekdays from noon-4 p.m.
Hubbard’s Morales suspended rest of season due to ejections
Hubbard running back Rafael Morales is done for the year following his ejection in Friday’s 26-21 loss to East.
Per OHSAA rules, a player is suspended for the remainder of the season in any sport if ejected twice in a season. Morales was also ejected in the first half of the Eagles’ 48-32 win over Girard on Aug. 31.
