Friends to host open house

The Shop in the Gardens at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown, will host its annual Holiday Open House from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Nov. 4.

Shoppers will receive a 20 percent discount on all Christmas and Thanksgiving merchandise. The shop also will be decorated for the holidays, including holiday serving pieces and linens.

The event also will feature Swan Creek candles, Habersham wax pottery bowls, lotions, soaps and travel mugs with traditional and Christmas themes.

The shop is operated by Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens, a nonprofit organization independent of Mill Creek MetroParks. Proceeds benefit the programs of Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Friends members will have the opportunity to attend a preview party and sale from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memberships may be purchased at the door. Jeanne Simeone serves as buyer for the store, Eileen Stankovich is shop manager, and Denise Stewart is president of the Friends of Fellows Riverside Gardens.
