The Berchiks’ children host surprise party

John and Marilyn Berchik of Austintown were honored recently with a surprise party at Mastropietro Winery in Berlin Center on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The celebration was hosted by the couple’s children, Stephen (Michelle) Berchik and Lisa DeSalvo.

Four grandchildren, Shaina (Jimmy) Kennehan, Stephen Berchik and Marisa and Nicholas DeSalvo complete their family.

Mr. Berchik, a retiree from General Motors Corp., married the former Marilyn Hudak on Sept. 14, 1968, at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown.

The couple are members of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Youngstown.
