Foundation to host Monster Dash

Shepherd of the Valley, 4100 North River Road NE, will host its Monster Dash 5K and Family Fun Run on Sunday. Registration will take place at 11 a.m.; the Fun Run begins at noon; and the 5K will start at 12:15 p.m. Online registration and information can be found at www.shepherdofthevalley.com/support-the-foundation. The entry fee is $18 if registered before race day. Runners can register on race day for $20. The first 200 registrants will receive a Monster Dash T-shirt.

Participants are encouraged to dress in costume. Refreshments will be available. The 5K course is out and back, with a loop turn around on mostly flat streets. The Family Fun Run will be through the independent condo neighborhood. Children are encouraged to dress in costume and trick or treat at the condos.

The top three male and female winners will receive prize money as well as the winning Masters and Grand Masters. First place will receive $150; second place, $100; and third place, $50. Masters will receive $75, and Grand Masters receive $50. Awards also will be presented to the first two finishers in each age group. Age groups include: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; and 70 and over.
