AUCTIONS

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will host its annual auction at 6 p.m. Wednesday. CRAFT SHOWS

Metroplex Expo Center, will host the Metroplex Holiday Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 3 and 4. There will be more than 140 crafters, entertainment and food vendors. Featured entertainment will include Brent Webb, the Master Mind; Cirque du Papier; Pony Tails Petting Zoo; Youngstown Weavers Guild; and Silent Lion. The Animal Welfare League will host a Lucky Pick Raffle, and tickets will be drawn throughout the show. Admission is $3 per person. Children under 15 will be admitted free. Our Lady of the Lakes Women’s Guild will host a craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3 at Our Lady of the Lakes Family Center, 1254 Grandview Road, Lake Milton. The event will have free admission, free parking, handicapped accessibility, a lunch counter and 50-50 raffle. DANCES

Friendly Squares will host its monthly square dance Nov. 10 from 7:30 to 10 p.m. at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles. Rex Parker will be the caller and Frankie Hammond will be cueing the line dances. The theme for the dance is Halloween. Costumes are encouraged, but not required. FUNDRAISERS

Legacy Dog Rescue will host its 6th annual “Fast & Furriest” 5K run/walk at Waterworth Memorial Park, off Superior Ave., pavilion 8, Salem. A 500 meter dash with your dog will take place at 9:45 a.m. and the 5K will be at 10. Legacy Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization that helps dogs in Mahoniig and Trumbull Counties and the surrounding areas. Helping Hands Closet at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, has new and gently used clothing for the entire family. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, will host its 32 annual Trash and Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 3. Items will be half-price after 2 p.m.

Women’s Group of Grace Lutheran Church, 162 Raccoon Road, Austintown, will host its annual Trash and Treasure Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature clothing, household goods, tools, holiday decor, children’s toys, games, books and more. Baked goods also will be for sale. Beginning at 1 p.m., all clothing will be a dollar a bag and merchandise will be half off. Homemade beef and vegetable soup or a pork and sauerkraut sandwich and pie will be available. Other food items include hot dogs, sloppy joe, soda and coffee. Proceeds will support area charities.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. NE, Warren, will host a Harvest Boutique to support Second Harvest Food Bank from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature bags (gently used), beads (jewelry and more), books, baked goods and more. A limited number of Church Mice will be available for purchase. This year, they are pilgrim mice.

Gustavus Federated Church bazaar and turkey dinner will take place Oct. 27 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the church, located south of the intersection of state Routes 87 and 193, Farmdale. The dinner includes turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, squash, cranberry sauce, coleslaw, rolls, beverage, and dessert. Carry-outs will be available. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The Country Store inside the church opens at 1 p.m. and will feature baked goods and homemade candy until 5 or while supplies last. The church is handicapped accessible from the west entrance.

North Jackson Citizens Association will host Halloweeniefest at the township’s Meeting Room, 10613 Mahoning Ave., from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31. Refreshments and treats will be provided. Children are encouraged to dress in costumes. The event is for all ages.

TRIPS AND TOURS

VFW Post 3538 Auxiliary will sponsor a casino bus trip to the Meadows Casino on Nov. 2. Cost is $35 with $25 in free play. Free coffee and doughnuts will be served at 8 a.m., and the bus will depart the VFW parking lot, 157 Lowellvill Road, Struthers, at 8:30 a.m. The bus will leave the casino at 4 p.m. A valid identification is required and a players club card if possible.
