AUTUMN FORAGING

When: Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m.

What: Join Leah Wolfe, herbalist, during this hands-on class on how to forage for the fall harvest for food and medicine. Today is the deadline to register and pay at Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown.

BIRDING 101

BARK PLANTER

When: Monday, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

What: Using hypertufa as a sculptural medium, sculptor Dan Dinsio will guide you in making a faux bark planter for your garden. Wear old clothing because it can get a little messy. Register and pay at Fellows Riverside Gardens by Friday.

BATS

When: Wednesday, 6:30-8 p.m.

What: One bat can eat 1,000 mosquitoes per night. Explore the world of bats with the OSU Extension Specialist Marne Titchenell. She has studied bat populations since 2004 and will share details of what bats live in Ohio, how they impact our ecosystem, bat houses and more.
