The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will host “History to Go: Oak Hill Cemetery Tours” from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at 344 Oak Hill Ave. A donation of $5 is appreciated, and parking is available within the cemetery.

Wine-tasting event

MERCER

Friends of the Mercer Area Library will host its fourth-annual wine-tasting event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the library, 110 E. Venango St. The event, “Wander A Wine Trail,” will include tasting wine from private vintners and local wineries such as Knockin’ Noggin, Webb Winery, Fractured Grape, Nova Cellars and more. There will be food, live music and a basket raffle. A $30 donation is asked for tickets and may be ordered by calling the library at 724-662-4233.

Shelter to host open house Saturday

West Side Cats will host a ribbon-cutting open house from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday at its new location, 4305 Market St. Tours of the building will take place, refreshments will be available, and there will be children’s games. Shelter offers calendars

The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County is selling Lottery Calendars for 2019. Calendar sales benefits victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and victims of other violent crimes. For 2019, there is a new format for the calendars. They will temporarily be sold for January only for a donation of $10. Purchase a ticket from the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County this year, and participants will have a chance to win every day for the month of January. The winner is based on the first evening three-digit drawing of the Pennsylvania State Lottery. If the winning ticket is not sold, the winnings will roll to the next day. The Community Mobilization Coalition is coordinating van transportation to the Board of Elections for early voters and rides to the polls on election day. The coalition is requesting that pastors forward information through email at cmc.ytown@yahoo.com or by calling 330-747-2125 with days and times drivers may be available.

Any congregation interested in participating in the “Souls to the Polls” Rally at the Board of Elections may do so from 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 4.
