Sweetest Day Dance at Packard

WARREN

The Packard Band’s annual Sweetest Day Dance will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW. Admission is free.

Music for dancing and listening will be provided by the Big Band Sound of Packard, directed by Daniel Carioti with vocals by Janet Opritza-Davis. The 20-piece orchestra will play big band music and other favorites.

YSU events for theater prospects

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown State University’s Theater and Dance department will present the Experience, a series of events for prospective students.

The first event will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Bliss Hall. Attendees will participate in breakout sessions; take an afternoon class; meet faculty, staff and students; and tour facilities.

All attendees will be offered free tickets to that night’s performance of “The Addams Family,” presented by University Theatre. High-school seniors may audition for the pre-professional bachelor of fine arts degrees.

Other dates are Nov. 3 and Feb. 15. The events are free, but registration is required at ysu.edu/theater.
