BUFFALO, N.Y.
Tyree Jackson threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score and Buffalo, beating Akron. Buffalo is now 6-1 for the first time since 1959. The Bulls (6-1, 3-0) are bowl eligible for a second straight season. Jackson connected with George Rushing for a 17-yard TD in the first quarter to erase a 3-0 deficit. It was Jackson’s 18th TD pass of the season, already the Bulls’ fourth-best single-season total. K.J. Osborn had six catches for 116 yards.
Miami (Ohio) 31, Kent State 6

Gus Ragland threw for a touchdown and ran for another to help Miami of Ohio beat Kent State. Kenny Young ran for 90 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 47 yards for the RedHawks (3-4, 3-1). Ragland capped an 11-play, 98-yard drive with a 3-yard keeper to open the scoring on the first play of the second quarter. Woody Barrett passed for 149 yards and ran for 75. His 7-yard TD run helped the Golden Flashes (1-6, 0-3) avoid a shutout with 36 seconds left in the game.
Eastern Michigan 28, Toledo 26
YPSILANTI, MICH.
Freddie McGee III poked away a two-point conversion pass in the back of the end zone and Eastern Michigan held off Toledo. Toledo (3-3, 1-1) trailed 28-3 at halftime but held EMU scoreless in the second half and piled up 20 points in the fourth quarter, cutting the Eagles lead to two points. EMU (3-4, 1-3) appeared on the verge of losing a twelfth one-score game over the last two seasons when a running play was stuffed on fourth-and-1, with the Rockets taking over with less than two minutes to go. Mitchell Guadagni passed for 147 yards and a TD and rushed for 137 yards. Mike Glass III scored twice for EMU, gaining 125 yards on 10 carries.
Northern Illinois 24, Ohio 21
DEKALB, ILL.
Marcus Jones ran 2 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with 4:51 left and left tackle Max Scharping caught a pass for the 2-point conversion as Northern Illinois battled back from a 21-9 deficit after three quarters to earn a victory over Ohio. Childers was 17 of 33 for 145 yards passing and carried 23 times for 169 on the ground. Nathan Rourke led Ohio (3-3, 1-1) with 275 yards on 15-for-23 passing and a touchdown.
Ball State 24, Central Michigan 23
MOUNT PLEASANT, MICH.
Morgan Hagee kicked a 36-yard field goal with 47 seconds to go and the Ball State defense held on for a win over Central Michigan. Riley Neal had a touchdown pass and touchdown run in the fourth quarter that rallied the Cardinals (3-4, 2-1) to a 21-20 lead. He engineered the 12-play, 56-yard drive that set up the go-ahead kick in the final minute. Neal passed for 183 yards and touchdown and ran for 55 yards and two more scores.
Western Michigan 42, Bowling Green 35
BOWLING GREEN
Jamauri Bogan ran for two fourth-quarter touchdowns and Anton Curtis sealed the win with two late interceptions as Western Michigan beat Bowling Green. The Broncos (5-2, 3-0 Mid-American Conference) trailed 35-28 midway through the fourth quarter when Bogan, who had four touchdowns overall, ran 7 yards for a score to even it up, 35-35. He capped the team’s next drive with a 3-yard run for another touchdown to give the Broncos the lead with 5:06 remaining. Jon Wassink threw for 286 yards and a pair of touchdowns for the Broncos. LeVante Bellamy ran for 145 yards on 24 carries.
