‘Roadkill’ filmmakers set casting call for scene

The producers of the film “Roadkill McGillicutty” have announced a casting call for background extras for a church revival scene.

Needed are males and females age 18 and up. The scene will be shot in Youngstown on Oct. 22.

“Roadkill McGillicutty,” directed by Brandon Villano, will be shot at various locations in the Mahoning Valley.

A drama that explores the ties that bind in rural America, it focuses on Colt McGillicutty, a roadkill cleaner for the road department of a small town, and his father ,John-Wayne, a retired taxidermy artist.

When local golden girl Bunny Willard returns to town, tensions escalate between Colt and his long-time nemesis, fire chief and local adonis Bill Devoe.

According to its plot summary, “Roadkill McGillicutty” explores the politics of smalltown Appalachia, clouded by a historic fire, romance, rumors and humor.
