Packard band plans anniversary concert
WARREN
The W. D. Packard Concert Band will present its 63rd Anniversary Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave. NW. Admission is free.
Stephen L. Gage will conduct the program of music by Shostakovich, Dukas, Sousa, Dvorak, Brahms and Strauss. Music from the Broadway stage and the big band era will also be on the program.
The concert will also include the premiere performance of the band’s 2018 commission, “Motion Through Time” by Jerry Ascione, who will guest conduct his music.
Artist lecture
YOUNGSTOWN
Artist Imin Yeh will give a free lecture at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday in the McDonough Museum auditorium, 525 Wick Ave., on the campus of Youngstown State University.
Yeh works in sculpture, installation, participatory events and print, and uses repetitive handcraft and mimicry to explore the issues around the unseen labor and production behind many everyday objects.
