Quakerfest to take place Saturday

SALEM

Salem will host its annual Quakerfest from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The Salem Historical Society, at the Shaffer Library, 239 S. Lundy Ave., will have several venues of interest to families. The museum’s gift and book shop will be open and offer a drawing and a concession stand will offer food items for $1 each.

There will be a petting zoo and pony rides, Yellow Brick Road will have children’s games and more. The Sons of Union Veterans, 19th Ohio Light Artillery, and the Salem’s Philip Triem Camp No. 43 will display artifacts.

At the conclusion of the program, three cannon volleys will be fired.

Three ghost tours on the Quakertown Trolley will take place at 6, 8 and 10 p.m. For reservations, call 330-205-3923.

Historian to give presentation

BOARDMAN

Traci Manning, local historian and curator of education with the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, will give a presentation on “David Tod and the Civil War” at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave.
