The Poland library hosted two Halloween Paint Party events to kick off October.

On Oct. 2, the library had an event for kindergartners through fifth-graders.

During the event Children’s Librarian Amanda Kollar helped children create a spooky Halloween craft.

“Its so much fun to have a big group of kids come in and just enjoy crafting,” Kollar said.

Children were given canvas, paint and allowed to choose from a range of stencils.

The group of 12 children painted their canvas’ yellow.

While they waited for them to dry the group chose stencils of pumpkins that they then painted over the top of the yellow back round.

The library also provided light snacks for the group.

On Oct. 4, the library had a similar event for fifth- through twelfth-graders.

This Halloween craft was slightly more advanced for the older age group.

All supplies for both crafts were provided by the library.

“Giving kids a creative outlet at the library is always a good idea,” Kollar said. “It’s what we do.”
