To kick off the fall season the Poland library hosted a decorate your own Gourmet Apple event on Sept. 29.

Adult programing librarian Missy Williams organized the event.

“It’s a fun delicious way for people to be able to experience one of the classic fall treats,” Williams said.

During the event Williams brought supplies from home, melting chocolate and caramel hours before the event started.

Participants were given honey crisp apples with wooden sticks through them. They were then allowed to choose between chocolate and caramel to dip their apples in.

Williams also had pretzels, nuts and M&M’s to sprinkle over the apple after they dipped it in either caramel or chocolate.

“A lot of community members enjoy coming to the library for community events,” Williams said. “So we always try to have something fun for adults to do.”

The library also provided plastic wrap so participants could take their creations home.

More than 12 people attended the event, with all supplies provided by the library or Williams.

“It’s always something fun and easy to do,” Williams said. “A lot of the projects people can replicate easily at home.”
