Car strikes elderly man in Champion

Township fire department officials reported a car struck an elderly man about 12:20 p.m. Thursday while backing out of the Speedway parking lot on Mahoning Avenue, causing him to fall onto the pavement.

Initial reports stated the man was bleeding, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

The victim was transported to Trumbull Regional Medical Center with what was believed to be nonlife-threatening injuries.
