UPDATE | Jurors hear victim had 'money on his head'

YOUNGSTOWN — Prosecutors in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court said today in closing arguments in the Charles Allen murder trial that victim Tyreese Lynch had "money on his head."

Assistant Prosecutor Rob Andrews told jurors before Visiting Judge Thomas that Allen, 24, of Campbell, wanted to collect on a bounty for Lynch, but Andrews did not say why Lynch had a bounty.

Lynch, 22, died Aug. 29, 2017, after he was shot in a car on Chicago Avenue.

In his closing argument, defense attorney Walter Madison said there are no witnesses who saw Allen with a gun the night of the shooting except the fo defendant, Jamar Sklenchar, who testified for the prosecution.

Madison told jurors they must carefully weigh Sklenchar's testimony because he only testified for the prosecution so he could get a plea deal.
