PITTSBURGH
Pittsburgh’s Darrin Hall, an Austintown Fitch graduate, ran for 107 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead score in overtime, as the Panthers rallied past Syracuse. Hall’s 3-yard burst on the opening possession of the extra period put the Panthers up and Pitt sophomore defensive back Therran Coleman picked off Syracuse’s Eric Dungey in the end zone on the Orange’s first offensive snap to give the Panthers a stirring victory. Qadree Ollison ran for 192 yards and a score for Pitt (3-3, 2-1 ACC). Dungey completed 18 of 38 passes for 195 yards with a touchdown and two picks during an erratic day in which he also ran for a team-high 70 yards and a touchdown.
Grove City 36, Westminster 33
GROVE CITY, PA.
Grove City freshman quarterback Josh Ehst found Cody Gustafson for a 2-yard touchdown pass to with seven seconds left. Ehst threw for 230 yards and a touchdown on 15 of 26 passing. Brookfield graduate Augustus Necastro came off the bench and connected with Keano Grice for a 27-yard touchdown pass, putting the Titans (3-3. 3-2 Presidents’ Athletic Conference) ahead 33-29 with 11 minutes left. It was Necastro’s only pass of the day, who replaced Shamon Walker. Walker went 8 for 21 with 62 yards passing and an interception, but he ran for a team-high 114 yards and two scores on 16 carries. Wesley Schools ran for 125 yards and two touchdowns on 34 attempts for the Wolverines (3-3, 2-3 PAC).
John Carroll 44, Capital 0
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS
Anthony Moeglin completed 12 of 30 passes for 181 yards and three touchdowns to lead John Carroll to its second straight win. Michael Canganelli ran for 160 yards and a score on 23 carries for the Blue Streaks (4-1, 3-1 Ohio Athletic Conference). Thomas Wibbeler completed 23 of 42 attempts for 193 yards and an interception for Capital (0-5, 0-4 OAC). Warren Harding graduate Kane Murray made five tackles, including one for a loss, for Capital.
Cincinnati 30, Tulane 21
CINCINNATI
Michael Warren II’s career-long 81-yard touchdown helped spur Cincinnati to a win over Tulane for the Bearcats’ first 6-0 start since 2012. Warren broke through the left side of the Tulane line and dove into the end zone for a 10-7 second-quarter lead and Cincinnati pulled away from there. Warren gained 123 yards on 18 carries for his third straight 100-plus-yard rushing performance. Desmond Ridder, 15 of 25 passes for 174 yards with a touchdown and an interception, ran up the middle for a 28-yard score with 41 seconds to go. Justin McMillan completed 11 passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns, including a 14-yard pass to Terren Encalade with 4:25 left. Tulane leading rusher Bradwell ran for 88 yards on 16 carries.
Central Connecticut State 56, Robert Morris 35.
MOON TOWNSHIP, PA.
Jacob Dolegala passed for 341 yards and two touchdowns and Drew Jean-Guillaume ran for 157 yards and three scores as Central Connecticut State pulled away in the second half for a victory over Robert Morris. Courtney Rush finished with six receptions for 167 yards and two TDs for the Blue Devils (3-3, 1-0). It was the first road win for CCSU in the series since 2004 and just its second road win over the Colonials (1-4, 0-2) in 12 tries. Jimmy Walker passed for 268 yards and two TDs — both to Gonzalez — and Alijah Jackson rushed for 124 yards and two scores for the Colonials.
Dayton 53, Valparaiso 20
DAYTON
Richie Warfield ran for three touchdowns and Dayton kept Valparaiso winless with a victory. Warfield had 41 yards rushing on eight carries for the Flyers (3-3, 2-1 Pioneer League). Jack Cook threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Duncan threw for 121 yards and two touchdowns for the Crusaders (0-5, 0-2). Kyle Cartales ran for 116 yards and a score.
Bryant 21, Duquesne 20
PITTSBURGH
Price Wilson threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Alex Rasmussen to give Bryant the lead and an opportunistic defense helped the Bulldogs edge Duquesne. Wilson found Rasmussen alone in the end zone with a minute left in the third quarter for his 14th TD pass this season. It was the first TD catch for Rasmussen, a junior. Bryant (4-1, 2-0 Northeast) had a nearly six-minute drive in the fourth quarter that left the Dukes at their own 20 where they managed only 5 yards on their final possession. Bryant’s Tomas Wright created a fumble and Robert Brown returned it 46 yards for a second-quarter score. Turnovers ended three Duquesne (3-3, 0-1) drives in the red zone. Daniel Parr threw for two touchdowns with Nehari Crawford collecting 113 yards receiving for Duquesne.
