PITTSBURGH

Paul Byron scored two goals and added an assist, leading Montreal to a victory over Pittsburgh s. Brendan Gallagher, Joel Armia and Charles Hudon also scored for the Canadiens. Carey Price made 21 saves. Riley Sheahan scored for Pittsburgh. Kris Letang had an assist and passed Hall of Famer Paul Coffey for most points in team history by a defenseman with 441. Matt Murray made 24 saves in the loss.

Lightning 2, Panthers 1, SO

TAMPA, FLA.

J.T Miller (East Palestine) and Nikita Kucherov scored in the shootout and the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Florida Panthers. Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy made 42 saves in regulation. He made one save in the shootout. The Lightning got a third-period, short-handed goal from Anthony Cirelli.

Devils 5, Oilers 2

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN

Kyle Palmieri and Trevis Zajac scored two goals each to lead the New Jersey Devils to a victory over the Edmonton Oilers. Stefan Noesen also scored and Miles Wood had two assists for New Jersey and Keith Kinkaid made 17 saves. Edmonton got goals from Milan Lucic and Leon Draisaitl.

Stars 5, Jets 1

DALLAS

Jamie Benn had two power-play goals, Tyler Seguin scored another and had a goal at even strength, and the Dallas Stars beat the Winnipeg Jets. Alexander Radulov and Seguin scored goals less than three minutes apart. Ben Bishop finished with 32 saves for Dallas. Connor Hellebuyck had 30 for Winnipeg.

Sabres 3, Rangers 1

BUFFALO, N.Y.

Conor Sheary scored two goals and Carter Hutton made 43 saves as the Buffalo Sabres beat the New York Rangers. Captain Jack Eichel added an empty-net goal in the final seconds for Buffalo. Brett Howden scored off a rebound with 4:39 remaining and Henrik Lundqvist made 26 saves for the Rangers.

Senators 5, Maple Leafs 3

TORONTO

Thomas Chabot had two goals and an assist, Craig Anderson made 34 saves, and the Ottawa Senators defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs. Dylan DeMelo and Chris Tierney also scored for Ottawa. Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews and Morgan Rielly each had a goal and an assist for Toronto. Frederik Andersen stopped 19 shots.

Predators 4, Islanders 3

NEW YORK

Viktor Arvidsson scored twice and the Nashville Predators held on for a victory over the Islanders. Mattias Ekholm and Craig Smith also scored for Nashvilles. Juuse Saros finished with 26 saves to help the Predators. Mathew Barzal had a goal and an assisst, and Valtteri Filppula and Anders Lee also scored for the Islanders. Thomas Greiss stopped 19 shots.
