The Murphys celebrate 50th anniversary

COLUMBIANA

Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Murphy of Columbiana recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner at Kennsington Grille in Canfield. The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Patti (Rick) Huggins of Poland; Michele (Joe) Mlynarski of Austintown; Shawn (Amanda) Murphy of Austintown; and their four grandchildren.

Mr. Murphy married the former May Waller July 27, 1969, at Immaculate Conception Church in Youngstown. The couple are members of New Springfield Church of God.

Mrs. Murphy is a sales clerk for Love Thy Curves Plus Size Consignment Boutique in Boardman. She also is a member of Burden Bears for Hospice of Holy Family Women’s Club.

Mr. Murphy was a telephone repairman for AT&T in Youngstown until he retired in 2000. He is a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 2. He also is an honor guard for the DAV.
