MVCAP dinner fundraiser is Friday in downtown Warren

Staff report

WARREN

Mahoning Valley College Access Program will have its second annual October Harvest Progressive Dinner fundraiser Friday.

The event will take place at several downtown Warren venues in the heart of Courthouse Square.

The dinner features staggered start times – 5:30, 6:15 and 7 p.m. Patrons’ preferred time will be selected when purchasing tickets.

In a traditional progressive dinner party, each course is eaten at the home of a different host, and guests travel between each house in the same evening. Guests will enjoy a cocktail hour, appetizers, dinner and dessert and coffee in and around Courthouse Square.

The MVCAP works with students in Warren and Youngstown helping to clear obstacles to enrolling in college and training programs after high school. They also provide scholarships to graduating seniors, said Lita Wills, executive director.

Tickets are $50, and can be ordered online through Eventbrite, or by calling 330-394-3358. More details are available at www.themvcap.org.

Proceeds support programming in Warren and Youngstown schools. Event sponsors are Paige & Byrnes Insurance, PNC Bank Foundation, Farmers Trust, Harrington Hoppe & Mitchell, Hill Barth & King, Jack Gibson Construction, Rulli Bros. Market, National Fire & Water Repair, Kent State Trumbull, Youngstown State University Office of Transition, Chemical Bank, Mercy Health Foundation, Compass Family and Community Services, and Seven Seventeen Credit Union.
