Cortland Oktoberfest this weekend

The second annual Cortland Oktoberfest will take place Saturday and Sunday on Main Street.

This family-oriented festival includes an arts-and-crafts show, chili cook-off, 5K/10K trail run/walk, family games and activities, children’s crafts, a silent auction, music, food and entertainment.

Each $10 wristband purchased will include various arts- and-craft stations multiple inflatables, climbing wall, family games and activities, minnow racing, photography contest, chalk on the walk, street entertainment and more.

The fest will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday with the MOE-Mentum 5K/10K trail run-walk. Runners will compete for awards in various age groups. The new scenic trail will lead both runners and walkers through wooded pathways in Cortland.

Saturday’s schedule will end with Tangled Up in Brew from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Cortland Lions Club Building, 194 W. Main St. This event is 21 and over and will include the band Good Brother Earl.

A variety of domestic, craft beer and food options will be available. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10, which includes a cup and one free ticket.

The chili cook-off will take place Sunday on Main Street.

Musical performers on the main stage will include Simply Ed Mancuso and Dennis Drummond from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by a singing contest.
