Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol have found a vehicle suspected of being involved in a fatal hit and run Tuesday morning.

Lt. Les Brode, post commander, said the vehicle was found about 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in Columbiana after investigators received a tip.

The vehicle is now at the post to be tested.

Killed about 6 a.m. Tuesday was Nicholas Crookston, 30, of Leetonia, who was walking on old state Route 344 near state Route 558 in Leetonia. Troopers said they were looking for a 2007 or newer Jeep Wrangler based on wreckage that was left at the accident scene.

Brode said there is a suspect but no charges have been filed yet. An investigation continues.
