New church open

A new church is now open at 1322 W. Western Reserve Road.

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and Pastor Joe Cameneti Jr. announced the opening over the weekend of Believers Church, which had two services Sunday.

The church was established by Joe and Gina Cameneti in 1983, and has been serving Trumbull County for more than 30 years at its Warren location. This marks an expansion of the church.

The opening of the Boardman location is part of a multisite strategy. The church founders plan to expand to multiple counties in Northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania. For more information, visit believers.cc.

Gas prices

YOUNGSTOWN

Gas prices in Northeast Ohio did not change much in the last week, according to AAA East Central’s gas price report. The week’s average price for Northeast Ohio was $2.735, down from the previous week’s average of $2.739. In Youngstown, the average price for unleaded self-serve gasoline was $2.703. The national average was $2.88, according to the report.

Chamber to host forecast event

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber announced it will host its annual Economic Forecast event from 7:30 to 9:15 a.m. Nov. 14 at Mr. Anthony’s, 7440 South Ave.

The cost to attend is $30 for chamber members and $40 for nonmembers. The event will feature Chris Cwiklinski, CFA, senior vice president and director of portfolio management for First National Bank Wealth Management’s Cleveland region. He will discuss the economic outlook on local, regional and national levels.

Regional Chamber COO Sarah Boyarko will talk about pending projects in the Valley and what the chamber’s economic development division will be working on in 2019. The second annual Excellence in Manufacturing Award also will be presented. Register online at regionalchamber.com.

Home Savings donates to Goodwill

Home Savings recently donated $2,000 to Goodwill Industries Inc.

The funds will be used to refurbish and renovate the organization’s classroom/cafeteria to create a space for hosting large meetings, staff trainings, community gatherings and celebrations, according to a news release.

“We’re proud to be able to support the Goodwill Industries Inc. as they work to expand opportunities, occupational capabilities and personal independence for people with disabilities and other individual special needs,” said Trish Gelsomino of Home Savings.
