The Underground Railroad Tour on the Quakertown Trolley has seats available for the tour at noon Saturday. Cost is $15 per person and a minimum of 15 passengers is necessary to conduct the tour.

Club will host anniversary dinner

The Youngstown Mothers of Twins club will host a 70th Anniversary Dinner to honor past presidents and “Mothers of the Year.” The event will take place at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Holiday Inn in Boardman. There will be memorabilia in the form of historian books, videos and pictures.

Past members who did not receive an invitation are invited to attend. New mothers of multiples also are invited. Reservations must be made by Tuesday by calling Sue at 330-727-2658.

Driving school to host safety program

Tire Rack Street Survival Teen Driving School will host a Mahoning Valley Region SCCA from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road. Tire Rack Street Survival is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that teaches teens the skills they need to stay alive behind the wheel.

There will be a classroom session, and participants will learn hands-on how to manage every day hazards, obstacles and challenges in a controlled environment as well as how to brake properly, skid control and more. Students also will sit in the driver’s seat of a parked 18-wheeler to comprehend the size and number of blind spots and will witness the detonation of an air bag.

The class is open to licensed and permitted drivers age 15 to 21. Forms, schedules and information may be found online at www.streetsurvival.org. Cost is $95 per student and some insurance companies offer discounts to graduates of the class.

Angels for Animals to host fundraiser

Angels for Animals, 4750 W. South Range Road, will present Ronnie Navarra in “The Elvis in Me” dinner show fundraiser Saturday. Shelter offers calendars

The Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County is selling Lottery Calendars for 2019. Calendar sales benefit victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and victims of other violent crimes. For 2019, there is a new format for the calendars. They will temporarily be sold for January only for a donation of $10. Purchase a ticket from the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County this year, and participants will have a chance to win every day for the month of January. The winner is based on the first evening three-digit drawing of the Pennsylvania State Lottery. If the winning ticket is not sold, the winnings will roll to the next day.
