Campbell freshmen to host celebration

CAMPBELL

The Campbell Memorial High School Freshman Class will host the 75th Annual Campbell Memorial High School Homecoming Parade at 6 p.m. Friday beginning at St. Lucy Church, 394 Tenney Ave., and concluding at the high school to kick off the Homecoming Football Game against Struthers. Refreshments will be served after the parade.

School to offer new program

SEBRING

Sebring McKinley High School is offering an Industry Credential for seniors to earn if they are in jeopardy of not receiving their diploma this year. Receiving an industry credential is one of the ways the Class of 2019 can graduate in Ohio.

A National Incident Management System Certification is the Industry Recognized Credential Sebring McKinley High School is providing. The Department of Homeland Security offers the NIMS Certification. A NIMS Certification is designed for students interested in a career in law and public safety.

NIMS is completed online, and students can take it while at the high school. Students must earn 12 points through six different online courses, and it takes about 40 hours to complete. Students also must earn 13 points on Applied Mathematics, Workplace Documents, and Graphic Literacy on the WorkKeys assessment. For information, email to t.trill@mahoningesc.org.

Parent Night set

Cardinal Mooney High School will host its seventh- and eighth-grade Parent Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 14 in the school auditorium, 2545 Erie St. Prospective families are encouraged to attend to learn about block scheduling, financial assistance, and admissions. Current students and parents will speak on the benefits of a Mooney education. This is an all-ages event as special seasonal activities will take place in the school gymnasium for children in grades kindergarten to sixth grade.
