Baby Brilliant: Bonding with Babies and Books

The Boardman Library, 7680 Glenwood Ave., will present a program of language enrichment for babies who are 6 to 23 months old at 10 a.m. Dec. 4, as well as Dec. 11 and 18. The program will involve 20 minutes of language enrichment activities such as rhymes, songs and stories, followed by time to play and socialize.

Grab & Go craft

The Austintown Public Library, 600 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown; the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, 305 Wick Ave., Youngstown; and the Tri-Lakes Library, 13820 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson, will have crafts available for children of all ages during normal library hours during the month of December.

Who’s the holiday character?

The Brownlee Woods Library, 4010 Sheridan Road, invites children of all ages to guess the popular holiday movie character by their silhouette.

Once a guess has been made, you will get a piece to add to the shadow, filling in the visitor. One entry will be picked at random to win a prize. This event takes place during normal library hours through December.

Where’s Our Penguin?

The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County, 305 Wick Ave., invites children of all ages to find the penguin in the library during the month of December. Children also can cast their vote to decide what to name the penguin. The winner will be chosen by library staff on Dec. 22.

Presents for Paws

Davidson’s Restaurant, 3636 Canfield Road, will host Presents for Paws from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Dec. 3. There will be a baske raffle, bake sale, 50-50 raffle and free pictures with Santa. All proceeds will go to Friends of Fido, TNR, All Paws are Perfect and Close to Home Animal Rescue.
