Veterans of the Valley luncheon scheduled

Mahoning County Veterans Outreach will host its County Salute to Veterans Holiday Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 7 at The Blue Wolf Events at The Maronite Center, 1555 S Meridian Road.

This year’s theme is “Salute to Veterans of the Mahoning County.” One of the goals of this event is to be able to provide a gift to each veteran in attendance. Third Christmas Marketplace planned

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society is hosting the third annual Christmas Marketplace from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 1 and from noon to 4 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St.

The Historical Society is seeking vendors for this show. Table space can be reserved for $50. Space is limited. Vendors can print an application form at mahoninghistory.org or call the Historical Society at 330-743-2589.

Church sponsoring breakfast with Santa

St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 10143 Main St., will host a community breakfast featuring Santa from 9 to 11 a.m. Dec. 1. Proceeds will benefit the Sprinfield Library.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under age 2 are free. Bring your own camera. For information, contact the Development Office at 330-740-6086.

Lighting of the Village at Poland Library

During the Lighting of the Village event Dec. 1, the Poland Library, 311 S. Main St., will have Christmas songs and stories from 5:30 to 6 p.m., and crafts from 6 to 7 p.m.

The Springfield Library, 10418 Main St., invites children of all ages to decorate an ornament for the all-seasons tree.

Ornaments will be available during normal library hours for the entire month of December.
