EAST PALESTINE

The East Palestine Rotary Club will host its 22nd annual Christmas Auction at 4 p.m. today at East Palestine Elementary School cafeteria, 195 West Grant St. Doors open at 3 to preview merchandise. Mike Mercure will have a huge selection of merchandise from small items to large ticket items. Local merchants also have donated items and gift certificates that will be auctioned. All items will be auctioned by local auctioneer Wade Baer. There will be 50-50 drawings throughout the night. Proceeds will benefit the East Palestine Rotary Club. Food will be available. Participants are asked to take a nonperishable item or toy.

Peace Light to arrive in Valley on Dec. 3

For more than 28 years, the Peace Light from Bethlehem has been spread throughout Europe by the cooperation of the Austrian Broadcasting Company – ORF (Linz), Austrian Airlines and the Austrian Boy Scouts and Girl Guides.

The 2018 Bethlehem Peace Light will be arriving this year at JFK International Airport in New York City after Thanksgiving. The Great Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, will be bringing it to the area. It will arrive in the Youngstown area the evening of Dec. 3, and will be distributed to several locations. Christmas tree lighting planned for Saturday
