SATURDAY

Aut Mori Grotto will host its monthly pancake and sausage breakfast from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Aut Mori Grotto Banquet Hall, 563 North Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes only, link sausage, eggs, home fried potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuits, orange juice and coffee. The Aut Mori Grotto is a member of the Grottoes of North America and is a nonprofit organization comprised of master Masons. The grottoes support local charities, Akron Children’s Hospital, Sujourners House, muscular dystrophy and dentistry for challenged children under 17. North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, North Lima, will host a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. . Participants can enjoy an all-you-can-eat breakfast or bruch for a donation. Campbell “O” Club of St. John Orthodox Church, 301 Struthers Liberty Road, is taking orders for its Christmas kolachi. Cost is $12 and flavors include apricot, cheese, lekvar and nut. Cultural Society of St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell will be selling cabbage or cottage cheese haluski with handmade dumplings for $6 per quart, Nov. 29 and 30. Polish Youngstown is accepting orders for its 6th annual Sekacz Christmas Cake Sale. Originating in eastern Poland, sekacz cake contains 40 or 50 eggs and it is baked by pouring ladles full of batter onto a rotary spit in open oven or over a hot wood-burning fire. As the batter bakes, it forms what looks like branches. It is rotated over and over again for 10 hours. Polish Youngstown imports the cakes as a fundraiser and sells them during the holidays. Cost is: $15 for the 4 inch, approximately one pound cake, $30 for the 8-inch, approximately two pound cake and $60 for the 16-inch large, approximately four pound cake. Preordered and prepaid orders only. Delivery will take place on or around Dec. 15. The cakes can be shipped. Basic shipping costs will apply. Orders will be accepted through Nov. 30. St. John the Baptist Cultural Society at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish will sponsor its vilija dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at St. John the Baptist Church Hall, 159 Reed Ave., Campbell. The event will begin with social hour with appetizers followed by dinner and desserts. Tickets are $25 and are available from St. John’s Cultural Society members or call Mariann at 330-755-1979.

St John Greek Orthodox Church, 4955 Glenwood Ave., Boardman will have its Cookie Walk from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 and from 11:30 a.m. 3 p.m. Dec. 10. A variety of cookies will be sold. On Dec. 10, a lunch featuring Greek cuisine will be available.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will sponsor its monthly Sauce and Song event Dec. 2 with a spaghetti dinner and concert. The dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the concert is set for 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Menu includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under. Carryout will be available with containers provided. County Mayo will be performing. The concert is free and open to the community.
