Comedy and magic will mix in show

The Youngstown Magic Club will present its annual Night of Comedy and Magic at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the LaBrae High School auditorium, 1001 N. Leavitt Road, featuring magicians Chipper Lowell and Will Fern.

Lowell enlivens his show with comedy, doling out witty remarks while presenting bizarre feats of original magic. He ad-libs with audience members and attempts pointless juggling stunts, while pulling a seemingly endless list of unusual things and gadgets out of his prop trunks. The result is an energetic show filled with laughs and amazement.

Fern specializes in both strolling and stage magic. He has won the international championship in strolling magic award from magicians from 80 countries in the International Brotherhood of Magicians. He mixes comedy, audience interaction and original thinking in his act.

The Youngstown Magic Club has been in existence since the 1920s and is one of the nation’s most active clubs.

Club members will perform strolling and close-up magic before the show from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
