Lecture on the flag

Rick Lilley, guard commander of the Girard Veterans Council, will explain the 13 folds of the flag and the meaning behind each fold, at noon Friday at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane. A light lunch will be served.

The Fall Graduating BFA Exhibition, an exhibition of work by art students at Youngstown State University, will open Friday with a reception at 5 p.m., in the McDonough Museum of Art on the YSU campus, and will remain on view through Dec. 7. Piano recital

NEW WILMINGTON, PA.

Matthew McCright, a 1999 Westminster College alumnus, will present a piano recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Wallace Memorial Chapel on the Westminster College campus. Admission is free.

The recital, “There and Back Again,” will feature works by composers Stephen Sondheim, Martin Bresnick, Missy Mazzoli, Sean Friar and Reinaldo Moya.

McCright, a native of Greenville, Pa., has performed extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and the South Pacific as piano soloist and chamber musician.
