Woman arrested after audition at strip club

Staff report

AUSTINTOWN

A Youngstown woman who auditioned to work at a Austintown strip club left in the back of a police cruiser after striking and spitting on officers, according to a township police report.

Officers responded Wednesday evening to Club 76 near the Interstate 80 interchange on reports that Jayda S. Day, 18, of Breaden Street, was “smashing things” in the parking lot.

Day told officers club employees had stolen her cellphone during her audition. Club employees said Day became agitated and accused other employees of the theft. She was thrown out of the club.

Day later called officers “racist” for not believing her side of the story, and swung at one of them, according to the report. Officers restrained her hands and feet when she began kicking the interior of the vehicle, and placed a mask over her face when she spit at officers.

Day is set for arraignment Tuesday in Mahoning County Area Court on charges of assault on a police officer, obstructing official business and resisting arrest.
