Poland Union Elementary School hosted magician Gordon Russ for the Spooky Monster Magic Show on Oct. 29.
According to Principal Mike Masucci, this is the first time the school has invited Russ to perform.
The show was funded by the Poland Union PTA.
“The kids have a lot of fun,” Russ said. “They seem to prefer when the balloon snaps in my face just as much as the tricks though.”
Russ has a number of magic shows that he performs around Ohio, Michigan and Indiana.
He has been a magician for around 30 years.
“I have a lot of student interaction. My show is very interactive,” Russ said.
During the show, Russ pulled students from the audience to participate.
He included props and other interactive pieces, having children clap along and raise their hands for different parts of the show.
Russ said that when he performs his shows he works to combine fun and jokes with genuine magic for children of all ages to enjoy.
“We really are just here to have fun, and I always do,” Russ said.
