“Newsies,” Crown Theater Productions at Main Street Theater, 5 North Main St., Columbiana, 330-482-9915. Auditions will be Nov. 12 and 13 from 7 to 9 p.m. Performances will be Feb. 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17. The cast calls for men and women and children age 5 and older. Auditions will include script reading and song of choice.

“The Elephant Man,” directed by Matthew Mazuroski, The Youngstown Playhouse, 600 Playhouse Lane, Youngstown. Auditions will take place Nov. 11 and 12 at 6:30 p.m. Performances will be March 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17, 2019. These dates are changed from the originally announced run; there will be no performances the weekend of March 22-24. Roles are available for five males and two females. The role of John Merrick (the “Elephant Man”) has been cast. A full breakdown of characters is available on the Youngstown Playhouse Facebook page. Those auditioning are encouraged to be ready with a one- to two-minute monologue; if not, scripts to read will be provided.
