Cavs’ Dekker to miss time due to ankle injury
CLEVELAND
Cavaliers forward Sam Dekker could be out a month with a sprained left ankle.
Dekker got hurt during the third quarter of Cleveland’s 102-100 loss at Orlando on Monday night. Dekker underwent further tests Tuesday that revealed the sprain. The Cavaliers said he will begin rehab and be sidelined for approximately two to four weeks.
Dekker’s injury is another blow to the Cavaliers, who are 1-9 this season. Cleveland recently changed coaches and is expected to be without All-Star forward Kevin Love for at least six weeks. Love underwent foot surgery last week.
Dekker has made five starts in his first season with the Cavaliers. He’s averaging 6.3 points and 3.7 rebounds.
OSU’s Micah Potter announces transfer
COLUMBUS
Ohio State forward Micah Potter is transferring before the Buckeyes’ season opener.
The university did not say where the 6-foot-9 junior from Mentor was going.
Potter dealt with ankle injuries his first two years and has not met expectations that he would become a dominant inside player.
Potter appeared in 59 games with 16 starts, averaging 4.1 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 46 percent.
The Buckeyes open today at Cincinnati.

BUFFALO, N.Y.

The nine wins are the most in the Bulls’ FBS history, dating to 1999. Buffalo is 6-0 in the Mid-American Conference for the first time.
Tyree Jackson threw his 45th career touchdown pass for third place in Bulls history and the 24th of this season, tying for third. Adam Mitcheson was perfect on seven PAT attempts as he became the program’s career scoring leader with 269 points.

QB Nick Mullens to get second start for 49ers
SANTA CLARA, Calif.
The San Francisco 49ers are sticking with Nick Mullens as their starting quarterback after his spectacular debut performance.
Mullens said coach Kyle Shanahan told him Tuesday that he will remain the starter for the upcoming game against the New York Giants.
The 49ers decided to stick with Mullens after he joined Hall of Famers Jim Kelly (1986) and Fran Tarkenton (1961) as the only QBs to throw for at least 250 yards and three touchdowns without throwing an interception in their NFL debuts.
