ELECTION UPDATE | Longer terms supported for Canfield council members

Sixty-two percent of absentee voters (733 total votes) in Canfield support longer, four-year term limits for city council members, according to unofficial early results from the Mahoning County Board of Elections. Thirty-seven percent of voters (442 total votes) want to keep council members limited to three consecutive terms.

Fifty-three percent of Canfield absentee voters (630 total votes) support lengthening council members term lengths to from two to four years. Forty-six percent of voters (552 total votes) elected to keep council members at two-year terms.
