The Western Reserve Fish and Game Association, 1058 W. Third St., will have a CCW/CHL class from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today .

Cost is $70. The club will provide firearms, ammunition, safety gear, classroom materials and lunch. Coffee and doughnuts are served in the morning.

Concealed-carry class

The Salem Hunting Club, 549 N. Indiana Ave., will have a concealed-carry class Nov. 11. Cost is $85.

Shooting activities

Salem

The Salem Hunting Club, 549 N. Indiana Ave., is offering a number of activities open to the public.

Shot from indoors, Winter Pistol League meets on the second and third Thursdays of the month at 6 p.m., with makeup shoots on the first Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. Rimfire or center-fire pistols are used, and any optic is permissible. A banquet takes place at the end of the season.

Also, .22-rifle matches take place every Friday at 6 p.m. Any optic is permissible.

Fall turkey shoots

Lowellville

The Lowellville Rod and Gun Club, 6225 Quarry Road, will have fall turkey shoots through Nov. 20.

Sign-ups are at 6 p.m., and shoots are at 7. Shells are provided at $2 per shell. There will be a novelty .410 shoot (guns will be available to use).

Niles

The Western Reserve Fish and Game Association, 1058 W. Third St., will have a home-defense class at 9 a.m. Nov. 24.

The class is a hands-on exercise and discussion. Participants will shoot and handle a number of firearms suitable for home defense.

Turkey shoots

New Middletown

New Middletown Farmers & Sportsmen Club, 3341 E. Calla Road, will have turkey shoots every Wednesday through April 24.

Shoots are open to the public. Sign-up is at 6 p.m., and shoots are at 7.
