VoiceScapes Audio Theater to perform at Ford hall

VoiceScapes Audio Theater will give a performance at 2 p.m Sunday in Ford Family Recital Hall, 260 W. Federal St., downtown.

VoiceScapes is a repertory company of master voice artists, including audio actors, directors, sound engineers, writers and producers. With performers from “Orange is the New Black” and “Law and Order: SVU,” the group performs fun and original audio theater shows, complete with music and both live and recorded sound effects.

The show is part of the Pipino Performing Arts Series of Youngstown State University.

Tickets are $24 ($14 for youth ages 3-17; $18 for senior citizens and YSU faculty and staff), and are available by phone at 330-744-0264 or at deyorpac.org. Season subscriptions are still available.

Seven scripts will be performed in Sunday’s show, including “Till Death Do Us Not Part,” “It Always Feels Like Monday” and “Kidnapping 101.”

Before to the performance, the adjacent Overture Restaurant will offer a variety of menu options.

Robin Miles, a member of VoiceScapes, will conduct a master class in voice acting, narrating, producing and directing at 10 a.m. Monday in the Ford Family Recital Hall.

Amateur and professional voice actors, narrators, producers, directors, students of the performing arts and public speakers are encouraged to attend the class, which is free and open to the public.
