The Irrelevants in free concert

YOUNGSTOWN

The Irrelevants, comprised of Carrie Koffman, saxophone, and Tim Deighton, viola, will give a free concert at 4 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave.

The performance is sponsored by the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University, and will include saxophone professor James Umble.

Theater offers Victorian High Tea

YOUNGSTOWN

The Hopewell Theatre (formerly the Victorian Players) will present a Victorian High Tea fundraiser Nov. 18, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Piccadilly Parlour, 114 S. Broad St. Proceeds will support the theater’s handicap accessibility project.

A luncheon will be served at 3:15 p.m. consisting of a cup of soup, tea sandwiches, sweets and tea or coffee.

Entertainment by the Just Friends Community Chorus will begin at 4 p.m. Background music will be provided by Darlene and Joe MacBenn on harp and flute.

The event will also include a live auction of unique vintage items and a raffle. Door prizes will be awarded.

Victorian dress is encouraged but not necessary. Reservations are required. The cost is $30 per person ($15 of the ticket price is tax deductible). Checks may be sent, payable to the Hopewell Theatre, c/o 17B Hunters Woods Bld., Canfield, OH 44406. Your check is your receipt.
