New Visions, part of the New Castle downtown revitalization movement, has announced the 2018 Outdoor Summer Concert Series at Riverwalk Park, which are all from 6 to 9 p.m unless otherwise noted.

RIVERWALK CONCERT SCHEDULE

Friday: The Dorals, a New Castle band, who will be performing rock and roll music from the 1950s, ’60s, ’70s and beyond. There also will be a Classic Car Show hosted by the Rapid Tappets Car Club.

June 22: Voices and a ‘How To Festival’ along East Washington Street (learn 20 things in two hours).

July 13: Featuring five bands as part of the annual Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors Concert. This concert will be from 5 to 9 p.m.

July 27: The Labra Brothers and ‘Play in the Street’ event hosted by First Baptist Church. Bring the whole family and enjoy a variety of games.

August 10: Lawrence County Community Band, a Pop-Up Market and a Pet Parade (bring your dressed up pet to participate).

August 24: Rounding out the season is The Matrix Band and a ‘Back to School Bash’ hosted by the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership.

Each of the concerts will feature musicians from the region, food vendors and a ‘Block Party-Style’ Festival on East Washington Street next to the park.

“The additional activities will complement the music on stage and create an atmosphere full of fun for all ages,” said Angie Urban, Executive Director of New Visions.

Each event will feature a different theme and will highlight children’s activities hosted by Arts & Education at the Hoyt, the New Castle Public Library, the New Castle Community YMCA and the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership. Many of the concerts will also feature local entertainer TJ Hill as host.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets.

All concerts are free to the public and are made possible by a grant and sponsors.
