Italian Fest seeks nominations

The Greater Youngstown Italian Fest is seeking nominations for its Italian Man and Italian Woman of the Year. If selected, the nominee would be introduced in person at the opening ceremonies downtown at 5 p.m. Aug. 3. Veterans' Outreach seeks volunteers

Veterans' Outreach has several events planned for this summer. Anyone who is interested in joining the volunteer team to help with tributes and celebrations, or anyone in need of information can call 866-212-5592 or email jely@veteransoutreach.org. The patriotic concert is slated for Aug. 25 and the Ohio Flags of Honor will take place Sept. 21, 22 and 23.

Nominations sought for Philanthropy Day

Nominations for the Mahoning-Shenango Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professional’s 2018 National Philanthropy Day awards are now being accepted in the following categories: outstanding philanthropist (individual or family); outstanding corporate philanthropist (for-profit corporation or corporate foundation); outstanding small business philanthropist (100 employees or fewer); outstanding volunteer fundraiser (individual); outstanding volunteer fundraising group (volunteer group); outstanding young philanthropist (individual or group, 18 and under); and the legacy award (presented posthumously to an individual or family).

Nomination forms and expanded descriptions of each award criteria are available at www.afpmash.org or by sending an email to afpmash@gmail.com. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. July 13 for consideration and should be directed to AFP, P.O. Box 672 Youngstown, OH 44501 or emailed to afpmash@gmail.com. To be eligible, nominees must reside in Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana Counties or in Mercer or Lawrence Counties. The award ceremony will take place Nov. 16 at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.

ABWA chapter to meet June 12

CANFIELD

The Mill Creek Chapter of the American Business Women's Association will meet June 12 at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., with networking at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30. Menu includes Swiss chicken, Italian sausage with peppers and onions, buttered parsley potatoes, Italian vegetables, salad, pasta salad, gelatin and dessert. Cost is $18. The speaker will be Cheryl Feichter, owner of The Brazen Brush, Market Street in Boardman. The public is welcome.
