LionFire music fest is ready to roar

SLIPPERY ROCK, PA.

The inaugural LionFire Music Festival will take place today and Sunday at Cooper’s Lake Campground, featuring headlining bands the Floozies and Moon Taxi.

The festival will blend music, fire and art, drawing inspiration from the Dark Ages with a modern twist.

The music will be a mix of alternative rock, jam bands and electronic vibes, with 24 nationally and locally recognized acts across three stages.

Electro/funk duo the Floozies will headline on the Main Stage at 10 p.m. tonight. Indie alt-rockers Moon Taxi, best known for their singles “Two High,” “Not Too Late” and “All Day All Night,” will take the Main Stage at 10 p.m. Sunday.

Other bands include Puddle of Mudd, Ripe, SunSquabi, Perpetual Groove, Bumpin Uglies, the Hawkeyes and Dirty Phonics.

Ohio Burn Unit fire dancers will put on a dazzling and humorous show for all ages.

In addition to the weekend’s ongoing performances, there will be an artist market with medieval inspired games and open mic sessions.

Cooper’s Lake Campground is just off U.S. route 422, just a few hundred feet west of I-79. Turn left on Currie Road, roughly a half mile east of U.S. route 19.
