Simply Slavic Festival, noon to midnight, E. Federal St., downtown Youngstown. The celebration starts Friday with Party on the Plaza Slavic-Style, 7 to 10 p.m., East Federal Street, with the Chardon Polka Band, Slavic food trucks and the Slavic beer garden. Admission is free. The main event runs from noon to midnight Saturday. Highlights include live music, folk dance performances, homemade food, children’s activities, a Slavic storytelling booth and a bonfire after dark.
