Man beaten in Youngstown had spleen removed

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are trying to figure out how a man ended up at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital on Wednesday with injuries so severe he had to have his spleen removed.

Reports said officers were called to the hospital about 3 p.m., where reports said he was taken to the hospital by paramedics earlier in the day from a West Side home in the 100 block of North Hazelwood Avenue.
