Gardening and farm tour begins Monday

The Mahoning Gardens will host its community garden and urban farm tour from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at St. Patrick’s Garden, 1420 Oak Hill Ave. The topic will be how to begin a vegetable garden, from planting to weed care and disease control. For information, visit go.osu.edu/localflavor2018.

Tournament is set for June 4

The Annual Golf Outing, organized by Carter and Carole Lewis of Howland and a committee of volunteers, will take place at 11:30 a.m. June 4 at the Trumbull Country Club, 600 Golf Drive NE.

Cost is $175 for golfers and includes 18 holes of golf, lunch and snacks, tournament and door prizes, dinner and entertainment. Cost for non-golfers’ dinners is $25 each. Reservations must be made by May 29 by calling 800-686-6627, ext. 110 or devans@noas.com.

Proceeds benefit Northeast Ohio Adoption Service, a nonprofit agency, founded in 1978. NOAS has developed more than 1,300 families and does not charge fees to families for adoption.

Library will host Seed to Table series

NEWTON FALLS

Newton Falls Public Library will host a Seed to Table program from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 30.

There will be free plants, garden information and seeds. There also will be a presentation from Birds in Flight Sanctuary featuring live birds.

There will be free activities, crafts, and snacks and an opportunity to help plant the annual children’s garden.

Golf classic to take place July 16

The annual Pink Ribbon Golf Classic will take place at Avalon Lakes Golf and Country Club on July 16. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
