Police find drugs after catching man after chase
YOUNGSTOWN — Reports said officers found chunks of crack cocaine Monday inside a cruiser where a man who was taken into custody following a short chase was sitting.
Albert Cosey,45, of Mabel Avenue, was booked into the Mahoning County jail on charges of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer and possession of cocaine. He is expected to be arraigned in municipal court Wednesday.
Reports said Cosey led police on a short chase about 6:10 p.m. after officers tried to pull him for weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed on Glenwood Avenue but he refused to pull over before finally stopping on Cohasset Drive.
After Cosey was placed into custody and was being taken to the jail, he was squirming around in the back of a cruiser, reports said.
When police arrived at the jail they found the chunks of cocaine on the seat and the floor where Cosey was sitting, reports said.
